FFA members advance to state

Two area high schools, Ray and Tioga, sent their respective chapters of Future Farmers of America (FFA) to a District Leadership competition last week. 

Both chapters came out of the competition smiling, as they navigated past years’ obstacles and found a road to success. 

Last school year, Ray High School had its Future Farmers of America (FFA) charter revoked. The program appeared to be on the decline. 

The students couldn’t have possibly imagined taking the 2018 District Leadership competition by storm and amassing dozens of charter and individual awards. 

Then it happened.

Ray High School was named the Chapter of the Day at the competition and its 30 members took home at least one individual award each.
