Kentucky Air Guardsmen earn Bronze Star Medals

Master Sgt. Benjamen K. Pelster (right), a combat controller for the 123rd Special Tactics Squadron, receives the Bronze Star Medal from Col. David Mounkes, commander of the 123rd Airlift Wing, during a ceremony at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 17, 2018. Pelster was instrumental in the execution of nine missions across five countries involving seven landing zones, nine forward area refueling point surveys and one drop zone certification in 2014. Five members of the 123rd Special Tactics Squadron were awarded Bronze Star Medals during a ceremony at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base Nov. 17, for outstanding selflessness and bravery in the defense of the United States.
